Japanese lantern floating off Magic Island on Oahu. The lanterns are prepared with names and messages for loved ones who have passed on, then are set out to sea at sunset on Memorial Day. It is a Buddhist tradition, and in Japan is done in the summer on the last night of their Obon festival.
